I invite you to join my talented students of University of Michigan play a recital this coming Friday, Nov. 13th at 7pm. We are especially excited to present violin ensemble works by BIPOC and female composers. We as performing artists are constantly inspired by our community, and we hope to inspire others by displaying our belief that values diversity, equity and inclusion in our artform. The exclusion of specific groups of people has been a serious issue in the performing arts industry, and I am encouraged by my students for confronting the issues and finding ways to fight systemic and cultural racism. This is a small presentation of the work that needs to be done, but we wanted to take this opportunity to showcase our responsibility as citizen artists. It has been nothing short of heartening to see these young artists work hard and make music together in-person, safely and responsibly. I am truly grateful for the trust and the sense of community I was fortunate to experience during this time, and we hope that you will come join us and enjoy the beautiful music. Limited seatings available in Stamps Auditorium, or join us on zoom:
